I take immense pleasure in the gift giving process. Scouring the internet finding the perfect, creative gift for someone I love is my #1 hobby during the holiday season.
Nothing beats seeing someone’s reaction to a gift that surprises them, and that you know they’ll love. To make this process a little easier for the uninitiated, I’ve created this gift guide to help you find unique gifts for very particular profiles.
Taking it one step further, all of these gifts linked below are available now to ship and will arrive before Christmas Eve.
Here we go!

For the person who loves inspirational quotes:
Hand Lettering 101 – They have lots of quotes pinned to their walls, their desk, their refrigerator. Inspire them to make their own prints by giving them this guide to the art of hand lettering, a more casual form of calligraphy. Include a set of brush pens, and they can start creating right away.
For your bookish pal, who also enjoys the outdoors:
A Camping Hammock – In my mind, there is nothing better than laying outside and reading a book. My favorite way to do this? Lying in my camping hammock. I bring this to my local park to read during the summer, but this will work anywhere there are 2 trees close together. Relaxing and comfortable 😎
For your favorite techie or video game nerd:
Raspberry Pi Kit – Raspberry Pi’s are mini-computers that can be programmed to do almost anything. I love this gift for gamers in particular because you can turn the Pi into a gaming console that will let you play retro games. Pick up a couple of usb controllers, and let the games begin.
It’s also a fun gift for learning to program, or those who like to tinker. They can wipe the computer at any time and start over to create something new.
For the couple that loves to host dinner parties:
Code Names – This pair probably has every platter or tray out there. Surprise them with a fun, easy to learn game that’s a hit at parties! Code Name in particular is great for groups of any size and has unlimited replay value. It’s a fan favorite in my household, and I’m sure it would be in theirs.
For the beer lover:
A Growler and Brewery Tour – My dad is the ultimate beer lover. For this reason, I usually have a hard time figuring out what to get him each year, other than…more beer. Enter: Brew Bus Tours. In most cities, you can find a company that organizes tours to local breweries so you and your family can imbibe without needing a designated driver. (I’ve linked to the company I’ve bought tickets from in Cleveland above).
My dad enjoyed this gift SO much, we have made this a yearly holiday tradition. Include a growler with the tickets inside, and your beer lover can bring it with them to fill up on the tour.
For the GenZ-er or millennial who loves pop culture:
Thank U Next Shirt – Any surveyors of pop culture this year will know, Ariana Grande is the woman to watch. This shirt is a cute tribute to her first #1 billboard single, and might buy you some cred with a trendy relative. If Ariana Grande is not their style, check out the rest of Femfetti’s trendy and fun clothing items.
For the person with international taste:
Polish pottery – Polish pottery is a term for the Bolesławiec pottery style that has been handmade in Poland for centuries. The pottery has very intricate designs, usually painted in blue and white shades. Moreover, the pieces are gorgeous and unique, and would be appreciated by anyone who loves handicrafts or gifts that tell a story.
For your favorite strong woman:
Bad Girls throughout History by: Ann Shen – I was gifted this book several years ago and it is absolutely gorgeous! Ann is an artist and hand letterer and she created this lovely book of hand-drawn portraits of strong women throughout history. It’s very fun to flip through and read the accompanying stories. You could also gift the matching journal or her second book on women in legends and folktales.
For the ultimate dog (or cat) mom:
Pet Friendship Necklace and Collar Charm – We all know that person who loves their pet like it’s their baby. (Maybe that person is me!? 😉) This quirky charm set is a friendship necklace for their pet. One half is a necklace, the other charm clips onto the pet’s collar. This is one of those gifts that a dog mom might not admit she’d wants, but would totally love.
For the person who wants to make the most of 2019:
My Intent Project Bracelet – For that person who is already goal setting for 2019, an intent project bracelet is a lovely gift. On the bracelet, you can put a word of intention for the year to remind the person of their goals every time they look at their wrist. If you aren’t sure of what word to choose, pick up a maker kit. The kit comes with several bracelets so both of you could spend an afternoon planning and goal setting together.
I hope you enjoyed this gift guide! Stumped on what to get a certain someone? Post who you’re shopping for in the comments and what they like! I would love to help brainstorm. Happy gifting!
